Greendrinks again

Clean up day at the UNICEF gift wrap today. It actually went pretty quickly with all th volunteers we had. We also heard a lot of the great stories from the season, including people responding to the huge UNICEF poster we put up that featured children playing in a field in Ethiopia. Several people mentioned they had received assistance from UNICEF and new where the location was. Cool. Another story involved a woman purchasing a tribute card to give to someone else. Cool in itself but actually she was doing it because a child had put it on a giving tree...that they wanted to make a donation to UNICEF. WAY COOL!

Another great greendrinks tonight. Met a great guy who started up Eco Encore a nonprofit that sells donated media on Amazon.com to raise money for nonprofits.

Go Greendrinks!

So excited...Rebecca (the other SSF founder) and I attended the first Seattle greendrinks last night. Great discussions, great people. Find one (or start one) in your city. It's a great way to meet new folks and find out what kind of great things are going on out there.

In other news, ran across Ralph Lauren's Pink Pony Fund today. The Fund aims to "reduce disparities in cancer care by raising awareness as well as enhancing prevention, screening and treatment in medically under-served communities." Pretty cool and it addresses both social and environmental components to cancer, particularly breast cancer. Now we just need Polo to get into organic cotton.
