Folk jam
Went to an awesome 'folk jam' last night with my friend mark at Lottie Mott's in Seattle's Columbia City district. SO COOL! There must have been 30 fiddles, banjos, guitars and even a cello doing American standards. My Valentine's Day you ask...spent most of the day pruning roses here at my sprawling 'one bedroom' estate Five Ferns followed by another rose session at a friends who was pruning for the first time. His bushes were very old and unattended to though so we did quite a number on them.

Larch March
Had an awesome day of hiking today, probably the last sunny weekend we'll have in Seattle parts for a while. My friend Mark and I headed out from Crystal Mountain ski area on the Crystal Mountain Trail, linked up with the Pacific Crest Trail, and then finished with at little trip to Henskin Lake. The larches were just turning their fall colors in the valleys and many of the brush understory was a bright red so it truly was a perfect time to be out there.
