Cuba or bust!
OK sslog fans...I'm off to Cuba through the 28th to take part in an Earthwatch project researching sandhill cranes. Inspiring style folks is great work but I have to say I'm SO PSYCHED to put my degree (conservation biology) to work. May be able to update sslog, may not. I will Certainly have a big report when I return though. Stay tuned..

Birds for birthday boy
Well I survived my birthday weekend. I need to check in and see how my buddy Ruben, ED of Earth Communciation Office (ECO) is doing, we share the exact same birthday, how crazy is that? One of the stops on my birthday weekend was to the Skagit Wildlife Area north of Seattle where I used to do fieldwork on song sparrows. I was really surprised to run into Mike Beecher, my Animal Behavior professor at UW, as we were leaving the site. Very Cool and timely as I'm preparing for my Earthwatch trip to Cuba next month to participate in research on sandhill cranes.
